Sauteed Swiss Chard

Sauteed Swiss Chard

I picked this from my garden so it tasted extra sweet and tender

This is a simple and easy side dish. I love swiss chard. It’s unique and if you cook it right, it’s not bitter. Here’s the best way to make it:

Ingredients

Swiss Chard

Olive Oil

Onion

Garlic

Red Wine Vinegar

Red Chili Pepper Flakes

Salt and Pepper

How to Make it

Start by chopping the stems of the swiss chard and the onion. In a medium saucepan, add olive oil, and the stems and onion. Start cooking them down for about 15 minutes, or until soft and golden. As if you were caramelizing an onion, we want to do this process with the stems.

Add sliced garlic, red chili pepper flakes, a tiny splash of red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined

Add your swiss chard leaves (roughly chopped) and a splash of water. Cook down for 5 minutes.

Taste and serve. Add more salt if necessary
